Welcome to Main Street Middletown, Maryland!
Middletown is a wonderful place to live, work, and to visit. Main Street Middletown is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to developing and promoting the economic vitality of Middletown's business district while preserving it historic character. Middletown received Main Street designation in June 2008 through the Main Street Maryland Program. Main Street Maryland is a downtown revitalization program created in 1998 by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. The program strengthens the economic potential of Middletown's traditional Main Streets and neighborhoods through supportive training and educational assistance as well as state and federal programs, grants, and loans.
To date Main Street Middletown has already received over $20,000 in grant funds to promote local businesses and improve the appearance of Middletown's Business District. Main Street Middletown is seeking additional grants and funding for a variety of improvements to the curb appeal of the city's business district. These include facade improvements, pedestrian right of way improvements, and the implementation of streetscape elements into facades and sidewalks.
