August is a great time to be in downtown Middletown!
We ooze small town charm and that slow, relaxed pace of life that is so reminiscent of summer and days gone-by. After all, we have been called Maryland’s timeless treasure and were voted by Frederick News Post readers as Best Small Town!
As a National Road Town, and with a newly paved road that stretches through the Town limits, we are the perfect place for that slow, Sunday drive. Soak up the sunshine, roll down your windows and admire the beautiful lawns, vibrant flowers, and huge trees that shelter and frame lovely Victorian homes.
Feeling a bit hungry? The Main Cup features fresh, made to order American fare, Dempsey’s Grille offers your favorite comfort foods, plus daily specials, Asian Café serves up large servings to cover lunch and dinner, while LDS offers the most talked about fried chicken in town. Be sure to save room for dessert and enjoy More Ice Cream on the huge wrap-around porch of this circa 1850 home turned ice-cream parlor. Order the food to go and have a picnic in one of three of our local parks.
Meander through town, peak into our shops, and learn how we were ransomed during the Civil War! Get lost in the views to South Mountain and take note of over 250-years of historic architecture found up and down our streets. Whatever you do, we hope you visit again!
