Let me introduce you to our friendly neighborhood doctor right here on Main Street. Click here for a quick video introduction to Dr. Craig Hauser. I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Hauser to give you a glimpse into one of our newest Main Street businesses.

Hauser Health moved from Braddock Heights to Middletown in January 2020. And then Hauser Health quickly moved AGAIN, but this time the move was ONLINE in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His wonderful patients have adapted to online telehealth seamlessly and haven’t skipped a beat!

His journey to become a doctor

Even as a little boy Dr. Hauser knew he wanted to be a doctor. He education started at Tulane (he paid for his education with a saxophone scholarship!). Next, he went medical school at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland, and began his medical career with the US Air Force.

He was fascinated by anatomy and the vast amount you can learn from images of the body and became a Board Certified Radiologist. Dr. Hauser and his family moved around the country to military hospitals in Texas, California, Alaska, and Virginia.

After his military service, Dr. Hauser transitioned into a civilian Radiology Practice in Hagerstown, Maryland and moved with his 3 children and wife to Middletown. They quickly became involved with the schools and the wonderful community in the Valley.

Switching from Radiology to Integrative Medicine

Life has a way of throwing curveballs and for Dr. Hauser, when experiencing frustrating health issues that he couldn’t solve with Traditional (Western) Medicine, he discovered Dr. Andrew Weil. He has a philosophy of using a combination of traditional and alternative medicine for the overall well-being and health of the patient.

So intrigued, Dr. Hauser went back to school and received a Integrative Medicine Fellowship under Dr. Weil. Not only did Dr. Hauser solve his own personal health issues, he became inspired to transition his health practice to implement these ideals.

These ideals encompass looking at the body as interconnected systems instead of individual pieces. The practitioner and patient are partners in the healing process, use high-tech and innovative testing along with nutrition, exercise and stress reduction. Mainly, this type of approach taps into the powerful ability of your body to heal itself when given the proper fuel and environment.

Moving his practice to Middletown has been a dream come true. Dr. Hauser and his family love the active community in the Middletown Valley and are thrilled to be a part of the vibrant, growing downtown district.
